Step-by-step instructions below to register your software after you have fully installed Raw Talent Guitar.

If you are installing for the first time, we recommend you follow along with the installation guide found in the box, which will walk you through the registration process.  These step-by-step instructions are for users who have installed but now need to go back and register.

• Before you begin, plug in your Stealth Plug and make sure the green light on the cable is lit up.
• This means that you have successfully installed Raw Talent Guitar and it recognizes your Stealth Plug, though you may not have complete the registration process in full.
• Many users install Raw Talent, but accidentally skip over Part G (Step 9) from the installation guide.
• Go to your Start Menu -> All Programs and open AmpliTube X-Gear as a stand alone application.
• Click on the “Lock” icon on the lower left hand corner of your AmpliTube X-Gear screen to launch the registration process.

2) Hit next to continue as in the picture below.

3) After you input your X-Gear Serial ID…

Enter Your Product Serial Number

…You’ll see a green check mark allowing you to press the “NEXT” button to proceed.

4) Please select “Request A New Authorization code and press the “NEXT” button.

Unless you have registered before, please request a new authorization code.

Then select “Connect To The Internet Using This Computer,” and then press the “NEXT” button.

Connect to the Internet using this computer.

And finally select, “I don’t have or don’t remember my IK Multimedia User Account.

5) Once you receive your Digital ID to go along with your Serial Number…

You can't click "NEXT" until you click the "Copy" button and then "Register OnLine"

You won’t be able to click “NEXT” until you click the Copy button and register online…

First select the "COPY" button

As in the images above and below.

Select "Register OnLine" to complete the Registration Process

DO NOT CLOSE THE AUTHORIZATION WIZARD AT THIS TIME.

6) Your browser window will open to the IK Multimedia Registration page on their Web site.

(NOTE: For Host Sequencer, you may enter other or unknown.)

And after you complete all required fields on the registration page on IK Multimedia’s Web site…

You’ll receive an authorization code which you should highlight with your mouse and then right click to select “copy”.

Once you receive your Authorization Code, highlight the code and right click to select "copy.

6) Now, go back to the Authorization Wizard, which you should have left open, and select “PASTE” to automatically input the Authorization code you just generated and retrieved from IK Multimedia’s Web site.

Click the "PASTE" button to automatically input the Authorization Code you copied from IK Multimedia's Web site.

Select the “NEXT” button (not shown) after you have pasted the Authorization Code and verify that your confirmation screen matches below.

And now when you click the Lock Icon at the bottom of your AmpliTube X-Gear Screen…

Click on the Lock Icon to check if you have registered properly

Well, you remember, it’s that screen we started on, except now, clicking the Lock Icon will produce the AmpliTube Registration Confirmation Page.

When you are finished with this entire process, clicking on the “Lock” icon on the lower left hand side of your AmpliTube screen should bring up a pop-up window that looks like the picture below.

Are you looking for something great for your kids to do this summer?

Music education is all around, and the North Shore Music Institute is announcing their inaugural Summer Rock camp program for musicians of all skill levels ages 8-15.

Northfield, IL – May 22, 2012. The North Shore Music Institute is proud to announce its inaugural Summer Rock camp program for musicians of all skill levels ages 8-15. Three camp sessions are being offered, Mondays through Thursdays, 1 PM CST to 4:30 PM CST, and Fridays, 1 PM CST to 7PM CST. Special “finale concerts” will take place on each Friday at 6:00 PM CST. During camp, students will also join a band, rehearse daily, make a music video and participate in games and activities.

Session 1 runs June 18-22, 2012; session 2 runs June 25-29, 2012; session 3 runs July 9-13, 2012. The program will be held at Christian Heritage Academy, 315 Waukegan Rd. in Northfield, IL.

Established in 2002, the North Shore Music Institute is a music instruction studio dedicated to providing students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime. Highly qualified and professional instructors are the key to NSMi’s success. When we decided to teach you Animal by Neon Trees for this edition Tutorial Tuesday, we had no idea that it would be such a long instruction. In fact, we’ve had to break this video up into two different parts.

This week, we’re teaching you the intro for both guitars – guitar #1 & guitar #2 – because there are two different parts of the song to learn on guitar in this lesson video.

And once we started, we knew we had to finish, so even though this video only teaches you the intro for both guitars, which is the same thing as the chorus, make sure you come back next week for the second part of the song, where we’ll teach you the verses and the bridge.

Don’t get discouraged, simply take it slow and rest your hand whenever necessary!

In a world of right handed guitars lefties have particular challenges they must face. There are tons of tips and guides for right handed guitarists, but lefties are often left out. So here are useful tips for left handed guitarists.

1. When learning, it does not matter if your instructor is right handed. Most of the world is right handed, so if you limit your instructor to lefties you may not be getting the best training. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying lefties are bad instructors. I’m saying don’t exclude an instructor because he’s a righty. The concepts are all the same, and eventually you won’t notice the instructor is a righty (if he/she is good).

2. If you’re a beginner or are buying a new guitar, you have a few choices to make.

— Buy a left handed guitar. This seems like the obviouse choice, however there are caveats. First, there aren’t that many lefty guitars. Your local shop may have only a few, if any and being limited in your selection sucks. Second, they cost more than righty guitars, which is sad and unfair but is a fact of life.

— Buy a right handed guitar and convert it to a left handed guitar. This is a perfectly fine option, and to learn how to do it visit our post HERE. Just make sure the guitar has a floating bridge. A floating bridge is a bridge not connected to the body of the guitar.

— Learn how to play right handed. This may seem to difficult but there are some benefits to learning how to play righty, especially if you are a beginner. You have access to more guitars at cheaper prices. And some lefties say using their left hand as the fretting hand (right handed guitar) is easier.

3. Believe it or not, there are advantages to playing guitar left-handed. Our left side of the brain is the analytical side and controls the right hand. The right side of our brain is  the creative side and controls the left hand. The hand that does the fretting on the guitar controls the structure and the harmonic tone (are you playing the right notes). For lefties this is the right hand, which is controlled by the analytical side of the brain. The strumming hand controls the emotion and articulation of the sound your producing. For lefties this is the left hand  which the creative side of the brain controls.  Therefore, a lefty is more physiologically acclimatized to guitar than a righty.

4. Learn to read chord charts and music the “standardized” way. You can find left handed chord charts but like instructors and guitars there are fewer of them and they are more expensive. If you take the time to learn to read the chord charts the “standard” way in no time it won’t make a difference to you. You will read them just as naturally as a righty would.

5. Remember your in good company. Whether you play a left handed guitar, convert a right handed guitar to lefty or learn to play righty there are dozens of musicians that already mastered the technique. Notable lefties include Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Dick Dale, Kurt Cobain, Bob Dylan plus countless more.
