Lesson 20.6 – Transposing the 1st Position to the Key of A

Now that we know all the patterns to the Minor Pentatonic and Minor Blues scales, we can begin to transpose what we know to other keys.

Transposing is simply the act of taking the key of a scale or song and changing it to another key. If you’ve seen guitar players using Capo’s, this is one way to do it (and you can learn how in our Capo lesson).

To transpose our 1st position form from the key of E to the key of A – all we have to do is take the same pattern and move the form so it starts on A. That’s it!
